[Linux] How To Install R

The R language is one of the most power and free statistical computing and graphics programming language, in this post we will see how install it in Linux.

Install R in Fedora:

$ sudo yum update -y
$ sudo yum install -y R

Install R in Debian/Ubuntu:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install r-base

Start using R:

Open the Terminal, and type: R

$ R

R version 2.14.1 (2011-12-22)
Copyright (C) 2011 The R Foundation for Statistical Computing
> M = matrix(runif(1000000, -1, 2), , 1000)
> V = M %*% t(M)
> S = solve(M)
